NORMAN — OU assistant men’s basketball coach Carlin Hartman struggled, like many did, after seeing the video of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police officers.
Hartman struggled on how to talk with his 13-year-old son about the events and how the affected their family.
“Early on, they were very emotional,” Hartman said of those conversations. “My wife told me I probably need to tone down a little bit because we didn’t want him to be afraid to go outside the house.
“But I told him to understand that you can’t do what your friends here in Norman can do.
