NORMAN — Alex Grinch isn’t a fan of building a defense, even if it’s been a necessary part of his role as OU’s defensive coordinator.
“I don’t wish first years on anybody — specifically first springs — but that’s part of what we do,” Grinch said Tuesday. “We certainly made some strides.”
After a first year that had plenty of improvement (in yards allowed and pass defense as well as tackles for loss) and some disappointment (most notably in turnovers forced and the Peach Bowl loss to LSU), Grinch’s second season began Tuesday with the opening of spring practice.
