The number of college football games canceled by weather keeps rising. The West Virginia-North Carolina State, Central Florida-North Carolina and Virginia Tech-East Carolina games have been postponed or outright canceled by Hurricane Florence, which is bearing down on the Carolina coast.
Two weeks ago, the Iowa State-South Dakota State and Nebraska-Akron openers were wiped out by lightning and storms.
Schools are scrambling to reschedule those games, and Dec. 1 is an option for any team that doesn’t make its conference title game. But many of those teams will be in contention for their title game at least into November.
