For five consecutive weeks, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young spent his Sunday evening the same way nearly five million other people did: He watched "The Last Dance” documentary.
Viewers were entertained with Michael Jordan’s countless game-winners and trash talk and the documentary sparked nostalgia about Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. It also reduced boredom during quarantine and it provided a needed distraction amid anxiety about the novel coronavirus pandemic.
For Young, though, the 10-episode series about Jordan’s Bulls meant something else.
“Seeing him win all of those NBA championships and seeing how he was after he won, it just brought me to tears,” Young said Wednesday on a conference call.
