Oklahoma has kind of a mess on its hands.
To be clear, it’s not football, where the Sooners are seeking a fifth straight Big 12 title with yet another gifted transfer quarterback in Jalen Hurts. It’s not softball either, where the Sooners are the top seed in the NCAA tournament with a 39-game winning streak. As a whole, the athletic department continues to be both very successful and very profitable under Joe Castiglione.
The problem is further up the food chain, where Oklahoma now has a vacancy at president.
Again.
The school announced on Sunday that Jim Gallogly, 66, was stepping down after less than a year on the job.
