TULSA — Bryce Thompson is officially leaving the state.
The Tulsa Booker T. Washington five-star recruit announced Tuesday morning his commitment to Kansas, choosing the Jayhawks over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and North Carolina.
“It’s Kansas. It’s a great, storied program with a Hall of Fame coach,” Thompson told the Tulsa World in a first-person account of why he chose Kansas. “I built a relationship with the coaching staff over a long period of time during my recruiting process.”
Thompson’s father, Rod, played for Kansas coach Bill Self at the University of Tulsa. Bryce took an unofficial visit to Kansas over the weekend.
