NORMAN — It was a simple gesture, a word and a symbol drawn on some eyeblack tape.
But to Shauna White and her family, it meant the world.
During the Oklahoma’s game against TCU, DaShaun White played with the word “Dakota” written under one eye and a heart under the other. The Sooner linebacker did it to honor Da’Shaun Dakota White, a baby who shared his name but who never had the chance at life he did.
“It meant a lot. He didn’t have to do that,” Shauna said. “He doesn’t know me. He doesn’t know anything about us.
