All the OU All-American did last week is average 38.5 points in two games, eight rebounds and six assists. He had a career-high 46 points at Kansas last Monday night, tying the most points ever scored in a single game against the Jayhawks at historic Allen Fieldhouse. Unfortunately, Hield’s record-tying effort wasn’t quite enough as the Sooners dropped a 109-106 triple-overtime thriller to the top-ranked Jayhawks.
Hield followed his 46-point outburst at Kansas with 31-points, eight-rebounds, five assists in an 86-76 home-court victory on Saturday over Kansas State.
Hield, who is a legitimate National Player of the Year candidate and was the Big 12 Player of the Year last season, has hit the 30-point mark six different times in OU’s 14 games this season, including five times in the last eight outings.
