Patty Gasso doesn't want a break.
Perhaps more accurately, she doesn't want the No. 2 Sooners to have a break.
“This late in the season,” Gasso said, “You don't want to have the whole weekend off, at least in my opinion.”
So when the Oklahoma softball coach saw the possibility of a late-season bye week in the midst of a future Big 12 schedule a couple years ago, she started working her contacts.
Because teams didn't want to travel to Norman to take on the Sooners, Gasso decided she'd take the show on the road — all the way to Corvallis, Oregon for a two-game series against Oregon State (24-17, 7-8 Pac-12).
