FPI tabs Oklahoma the overwhelming Big 12 favorite

The ESPN Stats & Information department has updated its preseason FPI (Football Power Index) and revised its game and season projections for 2016.

According to FPI, Oklahoma has a 65 percent chance to win the Big 12. The Sooners, ranked third in the FPI, are such a heavy favorite, due in large part to its three toughest games (Ohio State, Baylor, Oklahoma State), according to FPI, all falling at home.

As a result, Oklahoma is the only FBS team that has at least a 70 percent chance to prevail in each regular-season game. And FPI gives the Sooners a 47 percent change of winning the Big 12 with no more than one loss.
