Former Oklahoma star and Sallisaw native Matt Oberste was named the Most Valuable Player in the Double-A Eastern League All-Star Game on Wednesday night.
Oberste was 4 for 5 with a double and four RBIs in the 10-2 win by his East squad.
Oberste, a corner infielder for the Binghamton Mets, is hitting .290 with a .338 on-base percentage and .767 slugging percentage.
He made the jump to Double-A this season after spending his first three professional seasons in Class A.
