Despite a highly publicized arrest last April, former Sooner running back Roy Finch had hoped for a return to the Canadian Football League where he was the special teams player of the year in 2017.
And the Calgary Stampeders hoped to get him back. "We haven't forgotten about Roy," the head coach told a Calgary newspaper last month.
Finch went into a treatment program after being arrested in Edmond last year and a dashcam video of his confrontation with police officers was released to the media.
“I am focusing on my mental, physical and spiritual health," he said in a news release in May.
