Former Oklahoma pitcher Keilani Ricketts just missed out on securing one of 15 roster spots on the 2020 U.S. Olympic softball team. But Ricketts still has a chance to represent Team USA as one of three alternates.
The U.S. Olympic softball team was finalized Sunday morning following a week of selection trials in Oklahoma City.
Ricketts was one of 29 players competing for a spot. Former Sooners Shelby Pendley and Sydney Romero were left off the team.
"All 29 players that accepted an invitation to these trials displayed class and dignity along with an incredible passion to represent the United States on the field," national team coach Ken Eriksen said in a release.
