McALESTER — Dalton Wood’s mysterious, long-winding journey to join Oklahoma’s football program appears headed to a finish next week.
There’s no harm in doubters taking a “believe-it-when-they-see-it” attitude. After all, the McAlester High School graduate didn’t report with OU’s incoming freshmen last summer. Then questions intensified when he skipped the start of fall camp and didn’t maintain contact with OU coaches.
“I can promise everyone that wants to know that I’m going to be there (on Jan. 14),” Wood said in a McAlester restaurant on Tuesday afternoon. “I know the biggest thing they question is if I’m going to stay.
