Four-star defensive end Marcus Stripling was on the radar of the Oklahoma Sooners for quite some time, but Oklahoma’s position as the favorite was a relatively recent development. On Wednesday, OU officially closed the deal with the Houston Mayde Creek prospect, who had also considered Texas A&M, Alabama and LSU.
Stripling is an immensely talented player who possesses the size, strength, quickness and tenacity to be a legitimate problem for offensive lines.
Oklahoma has also secured the signatures of defensive ends Marcus Hicks, Kori Roberson and LaRon Stokes, defensive tackle Derek Green and edge rusher Joseph Weté, so it’s safe say that plenty of needs have been filled along the defensive front.
