Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw returned to Oklahoma City on Thursday to open his rehab assignment, and he got a chance to pitch in front of Oklahoma coach Skip Johnson.
The two formed a bond around 13 years ago when they started working together before the 2006 draft. Kershaw even worked out at OU’s facilities this past offseason before heading to spring training.
They still regularly communicate during the season.
“Skip’s good,” Kershaw said following his start with OKC. “He’s helped out a lot and done a lot of good things.
