COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Time and time again, Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale saw “valiant moments” from her Sooners.
But for all of the good moments for OU on the floor at Reed Arena, DePaul answered, ultimately taking a 90-79 win Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA women's basketball tournament.
“You come back and you cut it to three, cut it to five,” Coale said. “These valiant, unbelievable plays that lead up to that and then these valleys that follow. And that's sort of been the story of this group all year.”
The Blue Demons (27-7) jumped on the Sooners early, sinking five 3-pointers and taking a 15-7 lead just three minutes into the game.
