DE Matt Dimon won't play for Oklahoma again in 'mutual' parting of ways

Oklahoma DE Matt Dimon won’t play another down for the Sooners, coach Bob Stoops said Monday.

Dimon, a senior, won’t return for next season, either.

He has not played since the first half of OU’s loss to Ohio State on Sept. 17. DC Mike Stoops said Dimon had a strained Achilles tendon in the weeks after.

Bob Stoops described Dimon’s situation as a “mutual” parting of ways.

“It’s multiple issues,” he said. “The injury has led to some other things and, at the end of the day, it’s just not working any more.”

Dimon recorded two tackles in two games played this season.
