Court: Video in Mixon assault case is public record

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled a surveillance video of Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a female student should be made public.

Justices ruled in favor of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters, which had sued for access to the video under the Oklahoma Open Records Act. The Oklahoma Supreme Court found the video to be an open record because a judge watched it during a court hearing last year.

Mixon was suspended from the team for the 2014 season and was charged with a misdemeanor after his confrontation in July 2014 with the female student at a Norman sandwich shop.
