Brodney Pool just has one of those names that makes you think he was always destined to be a football player. If you disagree, or think my claim is weird—it admittedly probably is—just try saying aloud: Brodney Pool.

Pool came on in 2002 as a true freshman from Houston, Texas. In his sophomore year, he took over the starting free safety job, where he tallied 68 tackles, seven interceptions (good for 11th in the nation), and one blocked kick.

Following another outstanding season, Pool declared for the NFL draft. He was selected 34th overall in the second round to the Cleveland Browns.
