Early in the recruiting process, Norman North guard Trae Young declared that he and his AAU teammate Michael Porter Jr. were a package deal.
"We're gonna do it," Young told USA Today in 2015. "We're putting it out there that we're gonna play together. We just feel like we can do big things together.
But after Porter's father took an assistant coaching job at Washington and the younger Porter—now the No. 1 player in the 2017 class—eventually committed to the Huskies, Young looked elsewhere.
With Lorenzo Romar's firing after 15 seasons at Washington, though, Porter's future is once again up in the air.
