One heavy dose of chaos Saturday night didn't exactly lift the Big 12 to the top of the College Football Playoff rankings. But it at least returned the conference to the discussion group. Now the league must hope for more upsets as Oklahoma, West Virginia and Oklahoma State determine the champion in the coming weeks.
More help is potentially on the way and not just for the Sooners, ranked No. 9 by the CFP committee Tuesday night. Even the 11th-ranked Cowboys or No. 14 Mountaineers would stand to benefit from a round of upsets in the conference championship games on the season's final Saturday.
