NORMAN — OU’s Maggie Nichols was set to wrap up one of the most decorated careers in NCAA women’s gymnastics history next month.
Kristian Doolittle’s Sooners career was set to be finished at the NCAA Tournament beginning next week.
Thursday, their seasons ended abruptly with NCAA, Big 12 and OU decisions affecting collegiate sports and the coronavirus pandemic.
The Big 12 canceled its winter sports championships, including the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and the gymnastics meet. The league also suspended all regular-season competitions, recruiting and out-of-season practices until March 29.
The NCAA went a step further and canceled all winter and spring championships.
