College golf: OSU wins regional behind first-place finish from Kristoffer Ventura

STILLWATER — Three Oklahoma State golfers finished in the top five of the individual standings on Wednesday, helping the Cowboys win the NCAA Stillwater Regional golf tournament at Karsten Creek.

OSU's Kristoffer Ventura was the tournament medalist, finishing the three-day event with an even-par 216. Teammates Stratton Nolen (2-over 218) and Jordan Niebrugge (4-over 220) finished third and fifth, respectively.

As a team, the Cowboys had a 7-over 871 for the tournament, outdistancing second-place Oklahoma by 19 strokes. Max McGreevy was the top finisher for OU. He had a 3-over 219.

OSU, OU, Clemson, Louisville and Purdue all advance to the NCAA Championships, scheduled May 27-June 1 at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
