BETHANY — Three days after a Showtime documentary premiered that spotlighted the Baylor basketball scandal of 2003, the coach at the center of that scandal has resigned.
Dave Bliss, who had coached at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany for the last two years, resigned Monday.
“I accepted Coach Bliss' resignation earlier today, and our prayers and wishes are with him as he transitions,” Southwestern Christian President Reggies Wenyika said in a statement.
In “Disgraced,” Bliss asserts that Baylor basketball player Patrick Dennehy, was a drug dealer. Dennehy was killed, and teammate Carlton Dotson Jr. pleaded guilty to the murder.
