College baseball programs were granted some roster relief from the NCAA on Wednesday.
According to D1Baseball.com, the NCAA Division I Committee for Legislative Relief voted to expand rosters and scholarship limits for the 2020-21 academic year.
There will be no limit on roster size, instead of the usual 35-player cap. And the scholarship counter — the number of players on scholarship — has increased from a maximum of 27 to 32.
Also, the committee voted to eliminate the 25-percent scholarship minimum for one year. Normally, each player on scholarship must receive 25 percent of the total cost of attendance at a university.
