Big 12 baseball is officially leaving Oklahoma City for at least three years.
The Big 12 conference announced Wednesday morning that the annual conference tournament will move inside to the Texas Rangers’ new Globe Life Field for three seasons beginning in 2022, with OKC’s Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark remaining the host this season and in 2021.
Twenty of the 23 tournaments have been played in Bricktown, with the Rangers hosting in their former ballpark in 2003-04. The tournament was held in Tulsa in 2015.
“Oklahoma City is proud to host the Big 12 Baseball Championship again in 2021,” said Sue Hollenbeck, director of sport business at the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau.
