Collected Wisdom of Jimmy Wilkerson, former OU defensive lineman

JIMMY WILKERSON

Former Oklahoma defensive end

Age: 36

Hometown: Omaha, Texas

Residence: Kansas City, Mo.

Jimmy Wilkerson was a true freshman, less a year removed from small-school high school football in far East Texas, when he helped Oklahoma win the 2000 national championship. In the weeks before the title game against Florida State, he moved to defensive end. He hadn't played the position in college. Truth be told, he hadn't played much at all that season. Most of his action came on special teams. But that night against the Seminoles, he was a speed-rushing force off the edge, recording three tackles, a pass deflection and two quarterback hurries.
