While most are fixated on the heated quarterback battle in Norman, there's another key competition brewing on Oklahoma's offense.
Senior Carson Meier and redshirt freshman Jeremiah Hall will battle for the right to replace Dimitri Flowers at fullback, with freshman walk-on Coby Tillman also picking up some reps.
Flowers developed into one of the most versatile players in the country last season, becoming a dominant receiver and an efficient rusher out of the backfield.
His production (464 receiving yards and 9 total touchdowns) will leave a significant hole in OU’s offense. Outside of the competition between Kyler Murray and Austin Kendall under center, there's no position battle that will weigh more heavily on OU's chances to get back to the College Football Playoff.
