The question was floated several times after Oklahoma's dominating 35-19 win over Auburn in Monday's Sugar Bowl -- did the Sooners belong in the College Football Playoff? OU coach Bob Stoops was asked during his press conference for his thoughts on the current playoff system and whether he would favor expansion from four to eight teams.
"Well, I think if you went from four to eight, just get rid of the championship games, they become insignificant. And that's probably a positive.
"And I don't think the players' schedule accommodates more games. They're not NFL players. Some of them have NFL bodies right now, but not the bulk of the team, to start playing 15 and 16 games at this level.
