For all his success in 18 seasons, Bob Stoops' impact may be most reflected in the potential void he leaves at the University of Oklahoma and the Big 12 Conference.
Stoops stunned the college football world Wednesday stepping down at Oklahoma after 190 career victories, 10 Big Ten titles and one national championship. Since Stoops arrived in 1999, Oklahoma has been the most dominant and most consistent program in the Big 12.
Lincoln Riley, who turbocharged Oklahoma's offense the past two seasons, will replace Stoops. While viewed as Stoops' heir apparent, Riley's ascension came far quicker than anyone expected.
