Big 12 revenues are up again. And commissioner Bob Bowlsby said they’re not stopping anytime soon.
The conference announced Friday that the once-beleaguered league is paying out $38.8 million per school to its 10 members, which keeps the Big 12 squarely in the middle of the Power 5 conferences. The Big Ten pays out more than $50 million to each member and the Southeastern Conference somewhere around $43 million.
But both the Big Ten and SEC count third-tier media rights, which traditionally is content that doesn’t go to the television contracts. The Big Ten and SEC each have their own networks, and each claims all the third-tier content from those conferences.
