ARLINGTON, Texas — The slide was in regular rotation among those rotating through on the video board above the stage at Big 12 Media Days, mixed amid others celebrating the league’s achievements, photos of its top players, and a proclamation that the conference provides the most challenging path to the College Football Playoff.
“Six of seven bowl teams held opponents below their scoring average,” it said.
When conference commissioner Bob Bowlsby gave his opening remarks inside AT&T Stadium, he repeated the statistic.
“Contrary to popular belief, there are some kids in the Big 12 that can tackle,” Bowlsby deadpanned.
