The Big 12 will crown a new football champion on Saturday.
But the league already has a new trophy — and its birthplace is Oklahoma.
Designed and produced by MTM Recognition in Del City, the new trophy has some similarities to the award given to Big 12 champions in the past. It still has a massive black base with silver accents and the conference's distinctive XII logo prominently displayed, though the look has been retooled. It is sleeker and taller.
But the biggest change is what's on top. Instead of the crystal bowl that has been a staple, the trophy now has a sleek silver football.
