In addition to firing football coach Art Briles, the school demoted Ken Starr from president to chancellor.
Starr has served as the chairman of the league's three-member composition committee studying the issue of expansion.
With the conference's leadership gathering in the Dallas area next week, it's not clear whether or not Starr will continue to represent the school moving forward.
