The heart of Texas' order combined to drive in 14 runs as the Longhorns blew out Baylor 15-3 in seven innings in an elimination game at the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Tres Barrera and Patrick Mathis drove in four runs each, and Travis Jones and Kacy Clemens knocked home three each in the blowout.
“I thought it was awesome,” said Longhorns coach Augie Garrido, “the best we had played in a long time.”
The Longhorns battered Bears starter Drew Tolson for seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, scoring three in the first and three more in the third.
