Both Oklahoma coach Pete Hughes and leadoff hitter Alex Wise were a little perplexed Thursday, when Kansas State coach Brad Hill chose to intentionally walk Cade Harris to get to Wise in the third inning even though the matchup dictated the move.
Wise delivered a three-run triple that Hughes called the turning point in an eventual 13-7 win over the Wildcats in the Big 12 Tournament at Bricktown Ballpark.
Harris is the Sooners' nine-hole hitter while Wise has been among OU's hottest hitters and leads off.
“I was a little surprised,” Hughes said.
