Not long before Bryce Carter’s game-breaking home run in the eighth inning of Sunday’s eventual 10-7 Oklahoma State win in Bedlam at L. Dale Mitchell Park, a fielding play helped the Cowboys tie the game.
With one out and runners at second and third, Cowboys’ leadoff hitter Hueston Morrill hit a sharp grounder at Sooners’ third baseman Brylie Ware.
Ware huried to throw to the plate, throwing the ball wide as Dylan Gardner scored.
The play was scored a fielder’s choice, though Ware was charged with an error as Cade Cabbiness advanced to third on the throw.
