Bedlam baseball notebook: Freeman keeps hitters guessing in Bedlam win

Oklahoma State starter Michael Freeman didn’t allow Oklahoma much of a chance to drive the ball Saturday night in Bedlam at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Freeman struck out seven and only three of his outs came in the outfield during a complete-game performance in an 8-1 Cowboys win.

“His ball has very late action,” OSU coach Josh Holliday said. “Having tried to catch him before, the ball has a late unpredictability about it — some will sink, some will dart, every now and then some will cut.

“When you’re not even sure how to get your hand around the ball, then you know the hitter’s not quite sure how to get his barrel square on the ball.
