INDIANAPOLIS -- With a demeanor that surprised exactly no one who has followed his substantial collegiate career, former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield addressed the media at the NFL scouting combine Friday with unflinching confidence.
"I don't think I'm cocky," he said at one point. "It's not cocky. It's just confident."
The Heisman Trophy winner says when he meets with NFL teams that may draft him, he takes the approach of being "brutally honest," no matter the topic of conversation. Mayfield has made plenty of headlines, of course, for his on-field successes, as well as some antics that drew criticism.
