NORMAN — In a first-half timeout during a sleepy performance by Oklahoma's men's basketball team, Baker Mayfield did everything he could to whip the sold-out Lloyd Noble Central crowd into a frenzy.
After receiving an extended ovation following a moment of recognition at midcourt during a timeout, Mayfield once again showed the energy and enthusiasm that made him a favorite during his run as Oklahoma's quarterback that ended with a Heisman Trophy and a College Football Playoff appearance this season.
Mayfield ditched the trophy and waved his hands to get the crowd going before sprinting toward the OU student section — and, by extension, the Texas bench — flashing the Horns down sign.
