The Oklahoma quarterback led the Sooners on a 42-3 run after falling behind 21-7 in the first quarter against TCU last Saturday en route to a 52-46 win in OU’s Big 12 opener.
Mayfield completed 23 of 30 passes for 274 yards, including touchdown passes of 67 and 40 yards. He also added 55 yards on the ground and ran it in himself for two of the Oklahoma touchdowns.
For the season, Mayfield is averaging 9.28 yards per pass attempt, 16th best in the country. He has nine touchdown passes in 2015 and is completing 68 percent of his passes.
