Louisiana Tech defensive back Amik Robertson was named the Paycom Jim Thorpe Player of the Week, it was announced on Thursday.
Robertson earned the honor for week eight after recording three interceptions in Louisiana Tech's 45-30 win over Southern Miss. With five interceptions on the season, he's tied for second in the nation in that stat.
Robertson is one of 14 semifinalists for the 2019 Jim Thorpe Award. The award is given annually to the top defensive back in college football.
