When asked about a report that DE Amani Bledsoe has been suspended for a year by the NCAA for a violation of performance enhancing drug policy, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops reiterated his previous message -- that Bledsoe is suspended for a violation of team rules.
On Saturday, the Lawrence Journal-World, Bledsoe's hometown newspaper, reported that the true freshman had been hit with the PED suspension and OU would appeal the NCAA's decision.
"No, I wouldn't confirm that," Stoops said at his weekly press conference Monday, however. "I would stick to what I said before. It's a violation of team policy.
