Crushing the first pitch she saw from USA Softball's Player of the Year Kelly Barnhill, Oklahoma freshman Jocelyn Alo set the tone early in Oklahoma's 2-0 win against Florida on Saturday night.
Alo's hit sailed over the walkway in left field that bridges the outfield bleachers to the infield seating.
The home run, her 30th of the season, tied former OU power hitter Lauren Chamberlain's NCAA single-season freshman record.
“Obviously, the game plan wasn't to see how far Jocelyn Alo can hit the ball in the first inning,” Florida coach Tim Walton said.
