MIDWEST CITY — Juwan Walker wouldn't let up.
“Come play football with us,” Walker repeated to his close friend and basketball teammate.
When his friend finally broke down, two years ago and said, “Yes,” Walker didn't believe the friend.
“You're not going to come out,” Walker said, suspicious that his friend was just trying to get him off his back, or would just come out for a day and quit, like he did as a sophomore.
But this time, the friend was telling the truth and stuck it out and over the last two years, Midwest City's Jalen Redmond has become one of the best defensive players in the state and one of its highest-profile recruits before recently signing with Oklahoma.
