NORMAN — Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis has taken plenty from Rickey Dixon.
But it hasn't robbed him of his beaming smile.
The former Oklahoma safety was flashing that smile plenty Monday when the news became public that he'd be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in December as part of its 2019 class.
“Today he kind of cried, he smiled and he laughed,” Dixon's wife, Lorraine, said Monday.
Recently, a package arrived at Rickey and Lorraine's Dallas home, with a football and a letter informing of him of his upcoming induction.
“We were both kind of taken off guard,” Lorraine said.
