NORMAN — Alex Grinch's search for safety depth appears to have stretched to the offensive side of the ball.
Oklahoma's defensive coordinator said Monday night that freshman wide receiver Trejan Bridges has been working at safety since last week.
"That's just something that Trejan talked to coach (Lincoln) Riley about," Grinch said. "We may get into a recruiting war recruiting a bunch of guys off of offense if he allows us to."
It seems doubtful that many more players would make the move over, but the Sooners' depth at receiver — and lack of depth at safety — make it one that could make sense.
