Here are five takeaways from Oklahoma's 37-27 win over Iowa State:
Pump the breaks on defensive improvement
Oklahoma’s defense was touted as new-and-improved prior to its trip to Ames. But for the second year in a row, Matt Campbell and a backup quarterback tore up OU’s secondary. Quarterback Zeb Noland had the best game of his career, throwing for 360 yards and two scores.
The issues weren’t on any one part of the defense. Tackling was non-existent for portions of the game, particularly in the second half when the Cyclones were making their run.
Up front, the Sooners failed to get much pressure.
