Here are five takeaways from Oklahoma's spring game:
Jalen Hurts was impressive
New Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts was excellent in his debut on Owen Field. Hurts completed 11 of 14 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for a score. Beyond the statsheet, Hurts was accurate and looked comfortable both in and outside of the pocket.
While Hurts played well, it was the opposite for redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai. After hitting Lee Morris for a 58-yard touchdown on the game’s opening drive, Mordecai never settled into a rhythm. He missed on his next six attempts, including an interception.
